About Us
- Olathe Winery is a family owned winery with a vineyard, Cottonwood Vineyards. The Owners are Keith (the Winemaker) and Diana (Marketing) Read. The winery began operation in 1994.
The winery is situated on a 52-acre farm in Olathe Colorado. Twenty two acres are planted in Vinifera grapes. We are on top of California Mesa with panoramic views of both the San Juan Mountains and the Grand Mesa.
Emphasis on QUALITY not quantity.
The red wines are fermented in French and American oak barrels. The Chardonnay is fermented sur-lees in American oak barrels. These wines are barrel aged 1-2 years and then bottle aged at least one more year before release.
Please visit our tasting room with lovely gift items and antiques. Have a glass of wine and relax under 100+ year old cottonwood trees in our large front lawn. Plan your own event: reunion, wedding, business seminar, luncheon, wine class, etc.
We would recommend that you call ahead for groups larger than six, tours, or special events. You may also make appointments for days/hours that we are normally closed, except for Sunday. There is NO fee for tasting and tours. We personally welcome everyone.
We can accommodate groups up to 150 people when the weather cooperates, 100 people when it doesn't. Dress casual, expect good weather, and meet the owners.
